I am so excited to be a 2nd time mama!  I am hoping to reconnect with my blog and share many special moments with you all.

My wonderful friend, Nargess, organized a baby shower for me and our sweet boy #2.  It was a lovely evening with fantastic friends.  I am loved!

 

 

 

 

 

Now we are patiently awaiting the little guys arrival.  Expected due date is November 9th!

a rant

Oh, I have not been feeling myself this week.  Maybe it's because we were away for 8 days, maybe it's because I have had a sick boy home with me all week or maybe it's because I am almost 8 months pregnant.  All I know is, I feel done.  As I washed dishes tonight I turned to my husband and told him I didn't think I was cut out to be a mother.  All I wish for is a moment of quiet.  No screaming, no whining, no needing me.  I long to lay in my bed and just watch tv or read.  "What are we going to do about it?" he asked me.  I just looked at him.  What can I do?

I would never, not for one single second, wish this little boy out of my life.  I find the meaning of my life every time I look into his gorgeous blue eyes.  I am nervous about what is to come.  Can I manage two children?  When I think of what comes out of my mouth at times I am ashamed.  When I hear my words being repeated by this little 2 1/2 year old I am embarrassed.  How could I fuck up so bad?  The guilt I feel for being impatient is unbelievable.  I have a brief flash of life before children and I wish it back, even if for just a moment. 

I think I am just tired and hormonal.  Or, maybe I am crazy.

That's my rant.  I feel better.

Milwaukee & Chicago 2009

We have returned from a summer trip to Milwaukee, where we visited  Tim's sister Lou, her husband Rob and their wonderful 7 year old twins, Ella and Quinn.  It was a trip full of fun and relaxation.  Tim, Jack and I took the train for an overnight to Chicago, which was fantastic.  We wished we had longer to explore the city.  All the more reason for a return trip in the near future.  Our family treated us so well.  It was sad to leave.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

When we got home Jackson came down with a very high fever.  We were so worried we took him to emergency.  He is doing well and on the mend now.  Just a regular flu.  I tell ya, traveling and being 30 weeks pregnant sure can take it out of you.  Since being home all I have wanted to do is sleep.  Thank goodness I have the week off work!

where does the time go?

I can't believe it's been over a month since I posted anything.  It has been busy here.  Between work, trips to the beach, the water park and trying to keep cool...the time has just flown.  Being pregnant in this heat sucks, but I shouldn't complain.  The baby and I are well, so I can get through it.  I will try my best to post more often.  Maybe even a picture of my growing belly will make it on here one day soon.

FYI

Just a little update.  I found out this morning that the little one brewing inside me is a BOY!  Another little guy to run around.  I know Jackson will be so thrilled to have a little brother.  Tim and I are excited to meet this new little one.  November 9th is the official due date.

My little family and I enjoyed a weekend up at Whistler.  Gorgeous sunshine and plenty of relaxing.  I am so happy this weather has stuck around.  Great for the spirits.

PS.  For those who have asked, I am well.  Thank you.  19 weeks pregnant and feeling pretty good.  I have sure noticed a difference this time around with having a toddler in tow.  Keeping me on my toes!

Today is my birthday.  The day is almost done, but oh, was it nice.  A day off work, lunch with a dear friend, some time on my own, Chinese take-out with my family, a few presents from some wonderful people and now I am ready for bed.  32 years since I came into this world.  I have been given so much already and I can't wait to see whats in store.

We have had such a fun weekend.  Outside for most of it.  Enjoyed with family and friends.  It has reminded me of what summer is all about and I can't wait!

 

On Friday Jackson and I went to my doctor's appointment and heard our baby's heartbeat.  Such a strong, powerful sound.  Sent shivers through my body.  Then we met up with our buddies Maria and Liam for a fun afternoon. 

 

 

 

Saturday was spent out in Steveston with my parents.  We enjoyed looking at the fishing boats, eating a few french fries and making a quick stop in the toy shop.  We bought some shrimp off the boats and came back to our place, where I made a yummy pasta.

 

 

 

Today we went to Second Beach in Stanley Park.  Jackson loves the playground there.  We relaxed on a blanket, played soccer (as Jack likes to call it) and had lunch.  It was relaxing.  Then we came home all the whole house had a 3 hour nap.  Ahhhh...living is good!

fun friday 56

I have missed quite a few 'fun fridays' over the last few months, so I am thinking I will just post them when I can and stop feeling guilty that I haven't written anything.  This Friday was really nice, both because of the weather and because my husband, Tim, had the day off work.

We decided to take the False Creek Ferry over to Granville Island.  Jackson just loved the ride.

 

Once there, we did a little shopping and had a nice lunch. 

 

We took the boat back over to our side and enjoyed a walk along the seawall.  Jackson walked the longest walk to date.  I couldn't believe he made it that far.  Maybe it was the donut holes we bought on the island that kept those little legs moving!

 

We came home and Jack had a 3 hour nap.  Poor guy was worn out.  I went out in the evening with a good friend for dinner and a little shopping.  I came home empty handed.  All the better for when I head down for some cross border shopping with my mom and Sunday.
