We have enjoyed our annual summer visit with my brother Kris and his partner Edward. The time was shorter this year, but every moment was enjoyed. Oh, how Jack adores his uncles!

come on summer, i made the soup!
The weather here in Vancouver has been damp and cool. It certainly doesn't feel like summer is on it's way. A wet afternoon prompted me to make soup. I pulled out the recipe (thanks Martha!) for Summer Corn Chowder. Delicious!

special day with jack
This weekend Tim and I took Jackson up to Squamish for a Day Out With Thomas. We had such a great day. Jackson was so excited. It was wonderful to spend some quality time with our sweet boy.
Jackson said it best. "This was a great day, mama."

a walk in the park
Spring is in the air and the boys and I have enjoyed spending our days walking, exploring and playing in our beautiful neighbourhood. Now that the weather is getting nicer I am so motivated to spend time outdoors, and what a backyard we have...Stanley Park!

in the kitchen
Nothing gives me more pleasure, other than my family of course, than cooking. I don't get the time in the kitchen to prepare elaborate meals like I used to, but I am constantly trying to introduce new things to my family. Preparing dinner every night can get pretty boring, so when I try something new I am always very excited. When my picky little guy likes what I make I feel a small victory.
